JOB DESCRIPTION

The Education Department is seeking a highly motivated individual who is looking to gain experience with educational programs in the visual arts. Although the internship will touch upon a variety of programs, the focus is Orlando Museum of Art’s eleven-week offering of summer studio classes for elementary, middle, and high school students. The Education Intern will help facilitate the program, including assisting with sign-in and sign-out duties, lunchtime supervision, daily organizational activities, studio art projects, and writing information sheets that connect authentic works of art in OMA’s collection to the materials, techniques, and processes that students experience in the studio.

To be determined by Intern’s school schedule and Education Department needs.

REQUIREMENTS

Interested candidates must have (or be in the process of completing) a college-level education and have a background in art history, art education, studio art, or elementary education, as well as a love of working with children of all ages. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is helpful. A professional temperament and an ability to relate with people of diverse backgrounds is a must.  Applicants should demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills and have an ability to multitask.
